The girl behind the chair
My name is Naheed, most of you know me as Nana. I have been doing hair professionally since 2020 after attending Empire Beauty School in New York. I poured my heart into my braiding business, "The Nana Touch", and I am now accept clients at the Lansing Beauty Loft.
Doing hair is more than just a job to me— this is what I love to do; it's my passion, my sanctuary, my safe space. When you sit in my chair, you’ll experience what The Nana Touch is all about: comfort, creativity, and care. I’m excited and grateful for every client who becomes part of my story.
I am originally from Queens Village, New York, and I currently live in Lansing, MI. I've been experimenting with hair ever since I was little on my cousins. During the 2020 lockdown, I had the time to be able to hone in on my braiding skills and really nurture this passion I had. I was always trying new styles, trying to come up with new ideas, and at some point I was changing my hair almost every week or two.
After spending a year attending and graduating from Empire Beauty School in New York, my craft was refined, and I was able to begin "The Nana Touch", my personal braiding business. I am so grateful for what I do- even when the road to get there was anything but smooth.
Doing hair means more to me than I can ever put into words. It's more than a job— It’s something I would lose sleep for just to be able to do it. Seeing my clients light up when they have a fresh style is what I live for.
I'm so happy to welcome new clients, and I am so grateful to the ones who've rocked with me from the jump— I am only getting better from here.
